Kimmie Caruba is a multi-format on-air personality and creator from Chicago, Illinois. She has 11+ years of radio experience, including major market stops in Chicago, Phoenix and Atlanta.
Kimmie most recently did mornings on WUBL FM 94.9 The Bull in Atlanta, Georgia as part of “Moote, Kimmie & Otis in the Morning.” Before moving to Atlanta, Kimmie was the morning show co-host and executive producer on KDDB FM’s “The Keola Show” in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kimmie notably spent 2.5 years at US*99 Chicago’s Hottest Country hosting the night show and leading the station’s social media initiatives. Kimmie also spent 2.5 years hosting a country night show at KMLE 107.9 as well as a top 40/rhythmic midday show at Live 101.5 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kimmie grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and has loved media since a young age. Her first “broadcast” was in her grandmother’s living room with bingo cards as her “script” and a TV tray as her “desk,” — it was a very important segment on pandas at the zoo.
Kimmie attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where she graduated with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism & a minor in Marketing. Kimmie was very involved with the college radio station Z89 (WJPZ). She had a morning show, weekend show and eventually became the Music Director. During her summer & winter breaks from Syracuse, she interned at 103.5 KISS FM in Chicago on Fred+Angi’s morning show.
After graduating a semester early in Dec 2012, Kimmie worked part-time at 93Q Syracuse until she got her first full-time gig. She moved to the mountains of Vermont as the midday personality and Promotions Director at 95 Triple X in Burlington.
Kimmie Caruba joined CBS Radio in March 2014 as the night personality on KMLE Country @ 107.9 and weekends on Live 101.5 Phoenix. She added middays on Live 101.5 in November of 2014. Kimmie also worked closely with the digital department to create original content and uniquely promote station promotions.
Kimmie was promoted to the company’s Chicago cluster in 2016 and named the night personality on US*99 Chicago’s Hottest Country. As the station’s content lead, Kimmie created a content calendar, digital assets and a social media strategy to cover events. At the ACM Awards she interviewed over 40 artists, collected audio and shared backstage video content on socials.
In February 2020, Kimmie moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to join “The Keola Show” on KDDB FM. Two weeks later, the world shut down due to COVID. The show continued to keep terrified listeners company throughout the pandemic, interviewing the Lt. Governor live on the show weekly to get updates on case numbers, initiatives and vaccines.
Kimmie returned to the mainland in May 2022 and shipped her belongings to Atlanta, Georgia. She co-hosted mornings as part of “Moote, Kimmie & Otis” on WUBL FM 94.9 The Bull. Kimmie also hosted a nightly new music show called “New & Notable.” She is incredibly proud of what the morning show accomplished in just under two years, especially their Kindness Campaign. The show collected over 6,000 handmade Valentine’s cards and delivered them to assisted living facilities all over Georgia.
When she’s not in the studio, Kimmie is often snuggling her dogs Boots (a rescue Doxie mix) and Bear (the tiniest little Pomeranian) or FaceTiming her nephew, Paul. She enjoys yoga, Pilates, books, crafts, and binge-watching new shows. She also loves trying new restaurants — especially ones with a lot of carbs — and grabbing a drink with her friends… did we mention how much she loves food?
